OBITUARY
Honorable Lisa Ruble Murphy of, Michigan City, IN formerly of Chicago, age 67. Loving mother of Brendan and Morgan (Kristen Koonce) Murphy IV. Proud grandmother of Nora Murphy. Former spouse and continuous friend of Morgan F. Murphy III. Dear sister of Michelle (Dan Hebert) Murphy, Constance (Larry Doody) Murphy and Lyn (John) Kenneally. Fond aunt of Riley Doody, Will Kenneally, Brendan (Caroline) Hebert and Brieanne Rogus. Lisa earned her juris doctorate degree, with honors, from Illinois Institute Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1984. After time at Altheimer & Gray and the Chicago City Council Committee on Finance, Lisa was named as a judge for the Circuit Court of Cook County in the Domestic Relations Division , where she served from 1994 to 2015. From 2015 through 2025, Lisa took her tremendous legal expertise and unique compassion into divorce mediation. Lisa also served on the boards of the Frances Xavier Warde School, Children at the Crossroads, and the Hope Institute Foundation. Lisa was an intelligent woman with a sharp wit who was dedicated to helping others, and she lived each day with an ever-lasting beam of sunshine and positivity. Lisa’s spirit will live on and the optimism and life of service that she lived her life by will be remembered forever. She was a tremendous mother, friend, and advocate, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
