BLACKPINK’s Jennie stole the spotlight in an unexpected way at one of K-pop’s biggest award nights — by winning so much that she kept being called back onstage while her bandmates were not even there.

At the 40th Golden Disc Awards With Upbit, held at Taipei Dome on Jan. 10, Jennie walked to the podium three times, collecting trophies across solo, group and global categories and turning the night into what fans on social media quickly dubbed “the Jennie show.”

The ceremony was historic in itself, marking the awards’ 40th anniversary and becoming the first Korean music awards event ever held at Taipei Dome, one of Asia’s largest indoor stadiums. Singer Sung Si-kyung and actor Moon Ga-young hosted the event.

Jennie was first called as the winner of the Digital Song Bonsang (main prize) for her solo track “Like Jennie.” Visibly nervous, she said, “It has been a while since I came back to the Golden Disc Awards, and I’m still shaking receiving such an award. I’m especially happy to see fans again.”

She added, “Thank you so much to everyone who worked with me on my album ‘Ruby’ last year, including my agency, the staff and of course the fans.”

But just as she stepped offstage, Jennie was summoned again — this time as BLACKPINK’s representative. The group won another Digital Song Bonsang for “Run,” a hit that dominated Korean and global streaming charts in 2025.

Laughing in surprise, Jennie said, “Everyone, BLACKPINK won an award. Are the members watching?” before waving to fans and adding, “I see BLINKs here — hi!”

She continued, “I’m so happy this song received so much love. Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa must be so happy too. I’ll receive this on behalf of all of us today,” and closed by saying, “(Producer) Teddy oppa, thank you always and I love you.”

The viral moment did not end there. Jennie later returned to the stage yet again to accept the Global Impact Award, bringing her total to three trophies in a single night.

BLACKPINK also earned a place on the Golden Disc Powerhouse 40 list, which honors 40 artists who have had a major influence on Korean pop music over the awards’ four-decade history — a symbolic recognition of the group’s role in spreading K-pop worldwide.

Although Jennie attended alone, she said, “Even though I’m here by myself today, I feel so proud and happy. I’ll continue working to become an artist who has a positive influence.”

The image of one BLACKPINK member repeatedly walking back onto the stage while her teammates watched from afar quickly spread across social platforms, adding an extra layer of fan buzz to what was already one of the most talked-about K-pop nights of the year.
