A 23-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint while trying to buy a game console, and the suspect ran off before police arrived.

SAN ANTONIO — SAN ANTONIO — What was supposed to be a simple purchase turned into a robbery at gunpoint Saturday night on the northwest side of San Antonio.

San Antonio police say officers were called to the 11700 block of Braesview near NW Military Highway around 7:09 p.m. for reports of a robbery in progress.

According to investigators, a 23-year-old man met up with a suspect to buy a game console. While they were talking, police say the suspect told the victim to follow him to retrieve the item.

But instead of handing over the console, officers say the suspect pulled out a weapon, pointed it at the victim and demanded the money. The victim never received the console.

The suspect ran off on foot before officers arrived. Police have not released an estimated age of the male suspect.

No one was hurt during the incident, and no arrests have been made.

The case remains under investigation.
