PHOENIX — An injured female hiker was airlifted off Camelback Mountain on Saturday morning, authorities said.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, crews responded to the mountain for reports of an injured hiker around 10:45 a.m.
Firefighters found the hiker around 1 mile up the Echo Canyon Trail and discovered she had an injury to her lower extremity that prevented her from making her way back down the trail.
Crews decided to use the Firebird 10 helicopter to safely extract her from the mountain, fire officials said.

According to Phoenix Fire, she was evaluated and then taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition to receive further treatment.
