SAN ANTONIO – Alcohol may have played a role in a crash that sent two people to the hospital early Monday morning on the Northwest Side.
Police say the crash happened around 1 a.m. on westbound Loop 1604 near the Northwest Military Highway exit.
A man was driving a black pickup truck with a female passenger when the truck crashed into the back of a TxDOT work crew arrow truck parked in the area.
The impact caused the pickup to spin, throwing the female passenger from the vehicle. Despite being thrown from the truck, she survived.
Both the driver and the passenger were taken to hospital in stable condition.
According to police, the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash and could face intoxication assault charges, depending on the extent of the passenger’s injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
