A Fort Worth property owner shot and killed a man who was allegedly trespassing on their property and refused orders to leave the area, police said Monday.
Officers first responded to an investigation call in the 3400 block of Avenue L around 6 a.m., police said.
Police located an unidentified man lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the torso. Officials provided medical assistance, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the shooter had seen the man on their property trying to enter through a locked garage, according to police.

The property owner confronted the man and told him to leave the site. The shooter fired multiple shots toward the man after he “aggressively” approached, according to police. It remains unknown how many times he was struck.
The man then fled from the scene on foot but collapsed at the intersection of Avenue L and Bishop Street.
The property owner called 911 to report the shooting, police said, and remained on scene to cooperate with the investigation.
No arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon. Police did not immediately say if they planned to pursue criminal charges in connection with the shooting.
