The 100% vegan Tex-Mex restaurant Casa De Vegano on Jefferson Boulevard served final meals on Saturday, Jan. 2.

According to an Instagram post shared by the restaurant, financial struggles led to the closure.

“We fought hard to stay alive. We pushed, adjusted, sacrificed, and held on as long as we could,” the post read. “Unfortunately, after falling two months behind and facing heavy fees and penalties, we reached a point where we could no longer continue. This decision was not made lightly. We truly gave it our all, and while this chapter didn’t unfold the way we hoped, we accept this moment with humility and grace.”

That’s not all for the food though. Sister restaurant, Vegan Food House, will expand hours to seven days a week and will include some of the favorite Casa Del Vegano dishes on the menu in the future.
