SAN ANTONIO — No injuries were reported as crews fought to contain a three-story apartment blaze near the downtown area on Monday night.

Firefighters were called around 8:24 p.m. to the Soap Works apartments on North Santa Rosa near West Travis Street.

The San Antonio Fire Department said crews arrived to find heavy fire coming from all three floors of a vacant building.

The response was upgraded to a second alarm with crews making an aggressive interior attack on the fire. Despite this, SAFD says they pulled out some crews due to some structural integrity issues.

The fire department said crews will be out there for an extended amount of time due to the amount of fire involved. As of this time, the fire has been contained but firefighters are still putting out hot spots in some concealed spaces.

Fire officials noted their response to the same apartment complex just last week which left three vacant apartments damaged.
