The University of California, Los Angeles sent a notice to its students on Monday of a reported sexual assault that occurred near a row of fraternity houses.

In a timely warning email sent to students, UCLA said its police department received a report of a rape that happened around midnight Monday on the 600 block of Landfair Avenue. According to the victim, they were unable to consent at the time of the assault.

The university did not identify the alleged suspect, but said that individual is not affiliated with the school.

As part of the notice, the university listed several resources available to students for their safety, such as the school’s evening escort program, the Bruins Safe app and the UCLA SafeRide program.

The UCLA Police Department is investigating the case. Anyone with information that may be helpful to the investigation is encouraged to contact police at 310-825-1491.
