Northern Territory police have conducted a large-scale search-and-rescue operation in a Darwin reserve for a man who has now been missing for 10 days.

Police say the 44-year-old man, named Angelo, was last seen entering a service station on Bagot Road in Ludmilla at about 8:05pm on January 3.

CCTV footage from the service station shows him wearing a blue T-shirt with the word “Everlast” written across the front in white lettering.

He was reported missing on January 6, with police issuing a public call for information two days later, saying they held concerns for his welfare.

On Tuesday, an NT police spokesperson told the ABC mobile phone triangulation of Angelo’s device had identified East Point Reserve, in Darwin, as his last known location, prompting police to conduct a search-and-rescue operation on air, land and sea.

In the afternoon, a police helicopter could be seen flying back and forth between the coast of East Point and as far back as Bagot Road, while police vehicles were also spotted in scrubland behind Minmarama Aboriginal community.

In a statement posted on social media, the NT Police Force said the search effort was being supported by multiple units.

“There is a high presence of police with members from the Search and Rescue Section, Territory Mounted Unit, Cultural Reform and General Duties within the vicinity,” the statement read.

Police have urged residents in the Fannie Bay and East Point areas with CCTV cameras to review their footage for any possible sightings of Angelo.

They have also called for anyone with information to contact them.
