The 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles are over two years away, but fans will get their first opportunity to sign up for tickets this week!
LA2028 plans to release 14 million tickets for the Olympics and Paralympics, with single event tickets starting at $28. The first ticket sales will happen this year, and step one is registering online.
“It’s very much what I consider a marathon and not a sprint. There’s not going to be just one single opportunity for you to get any tickets or specific tickets that you want to go to the Games,” said Ken Hanscom, chief operating officer of TicketManager.com, a company that helps brands with ticket management and hospitality. After attending multiple Olympic Games, starting with London 2012, most recently Paris 2024 and soon Milan Cortina 2026, Hanscom started a Facebook group to help people plan their Olympic experience of a lifetime.
“My wife and I remember as kids growing up and sitting around the TV and watching the Olympics with our families, I have specific memories of Mary Lou Retton and Carl Lewis and Janet Evans and these great American athletes. And we’d always talked about like, we would just love to go one day. It just seems so difficult to do. And then in 2012, we’re just like, you know what? We’re just going to go, and 90 days before the games, we started planning, really focused on it. It was hard to get tickets. We ended up doing 17 events in 10 days,” said Hanscom.
They attended the last swimming session where Michael Phelps won his 19th medal.
“And from that point forward, we were hooked. It was our favorite vacation that we’ve taken. And we said, you know what? We are going to go back to every single one
“Seeing that U.S. flag raised, hearing the Star Spangled Banner play, and seeing our athletes be celebrated on the world stage. There was nothing like it,” said Hanscom.

Fans can start registering for tickets to the LA 2028 Olympic Games on January 14. Those who sign up will be entered into a random draw to receive a time slot to purchase tickets.
“This will just be the first opportunity. And so they’ll do a block of those. And then every three to six months, depending on what pattern and cadence they choose, they’ll have additional ones,” said Hanscom.
No purchase or payment is required to register for the ticket draw.
When it comes time to buy, LA28’s official ticketing service provider is AXS and Eventim.
Those willing to splurge could reserve official hospitality packages with the vendor On Location now. However, Hanscom says there is still plenty of time to plan.
The event schedule is already out, so fans can start mapping out their dream itinerary and be ready for those ticket drops. The official website to register and learn more is LA2028.org.
