Happy 2026! Inspiration is the theme for this year and this issue.

Within these pages, you will read stories of people who are connecting with our community, whether it’s Nopalera owner Sandra Velasquez, who relocated her Latin beauty brand headquarters to San Antonio, or Bryan Martinez, who found purpose after serving in the Air Force to help other veterans find work through his role at Mr. Sparky. Or Jade Paris, who started Sixth Seat, a curated dinner club to connect people through conversation.

This call to connect with their community is what inspired husband-and-wife team Peter and Susan Sypesteyn to reimagine NOLA Brunch & Beignets to include NOLA at Night and reunite diners with Cookhouse menu favorites and jazz vibes where you can simply enjoy time with your people.

To experience the manifestation of true inspiration, you must visit Jue Let, Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin’s new bar at Pearl that is a feast for the eyes and palate. And, you can sing your heart out in one of two karaoke rooms.

For uplifting motivation, don’t miss DreamWeek San Antonio. The theme is Revelations, and the expanded calendar features events Jan. 9-31, with something for everyone to join the conversation and spark change.

As we roll into February, check out 20 great dates in San Antonio to explore with your loved one, your gals, or go solo. Speaking of solo, the wellness feature includes a great list of ways to relax and release stress.

In 2025, we celebrated many milestones — 20 years of San Antonio Magazine; launched the inaugural Dream Big event; brought back Best New Restaurants; and rebranded the home and design issue as Mi Casa.

We’re keeping the momentum going in 2026, and I invite you to connect with us throughout the year at Dream Big in March, Best New Restaurants in May, the Mi Casa release in June, and NEW! Burger Bash in October.

Last year, I shared my intention to give myself and others grace and take in the meaningful moments, showing love to myself as much as I share with others. It was a momentous year with incredible highs, but it was filled with too many losses of people I care about most.

As for this year, I intend to go deeper, celebrate life, build community and personal connections, check on my people and tell them how much I love them.
