Phoenix area temps to hover near 80 as warm January weather continues

  • January 14, 2026

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Our mild stretch of weather continues with high temperatures forecast in the 70s to around 80 degrees around the Valley this week.

These temperatures are well above the normal high temperature of 68 degrees. However, we are only a few weeks away from the normal high temperature moving into the 70s. For reference, the normal high temperature on Feb. 5 is 70 degrees.

Afternoon highs on Wednesday are forecast in the upper 70s. The record high on this day is 81 degrees from 2001.

Expect mostly clear skies tonight with overnight lows falling to the mid-50s by early Thursday morning. The normal low temperature for Thursday morning is 46 degrees.

Highs on Thursday will reach the upper 70s to 80 degrees. The record on Thursday is also 81 degrees, set in 2000.

Friday morning will be a little cooler with lows in the low 50s, but highs will recover into the mid to upper 70s. The weekend is looking great with lows near 50 for the mornings and mid to upper 70s for afternoon highs.

Is there any chance of rain anytime soon? Some of the long-range models bring a slight chance of rain by the end of next week into the following weekend. But since this is 8 to 10 days away, don’t get your hopes up, as those chances could fizzle.

In the High Country, dry, mild weather will continue. Gusty winds will continue at times before tapering off a bit this evening. However, breezes may pick up along and south of the Mogollon Rim overnight into early Thursday morning.
