STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) announced that there will be no trash, curbside composting, or recycling collection on Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
“Residents should understand collection delays may occur after holidays. We appreciate patience as we work to collect the backlog of material,” DSNY stated.
The department noted that residents who normally receive Monday trash, curbside composting, or recycling collection should place their material at the curb on Monday evening for collection beginning Tuesday, Jan. 20.
Individuals can contact 311 or visit the DSNY website for questions about Sanitation services and holiday schedules.
