SWAT team response at Bell residence – NBC Los Angeles

A large police response Wednesday placed a school on lockdown and shut down a neighborhood in Bell.

Law enforcement was responding to what the Bell Police Department referred to as a “critical incident” along Orchard Avenue north of Gage Avenue.

NewsChopper4 was over the scene that showed a SWAT BearCat tactical vehicle assisting police. At least one person was detained by officers.

Orchard Academy was placed on lockdown due to the police activity, according to an LAUSD spokesperson. Ernest Debs Park and Camp Little Bear were also closed for the day.
