Severe thunderstorm, flood warnings in effect – NBC10 Philadelphia

What to Know

• The NBC10 Weather Team has issued a First Alert for severe storms for the entire Philadelphia region on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 5 p.m. until midnight.
• Unlike Tuesday, Wednesday’s storms have less wind damage with them and a higher chance of causing flooding. The National Weather Service has put us in a level three out of four for flooding.
• The highest risk areas are Philadelphia and south, including South Jersey, Delaware, and parts of Delaware and Chester counties.
• Storms should taper off by around 2 a.m. on Thursday morning.

A TORNADO WARNING is in effect for New Castle County, Delaware, until 9:15 p.m.
