Taxpayers can submit their state income tax returns electronically or with printed state returns.
Residents who would like to submit their returns electronically have at least one free option. Those people can use the Louisiana Taxpayer Access Point portal. It allows taxpayers to file returns, make payments, and check the status of income tax refunds.
Taxpayers can also submit their returns using commercially available tax software.
If you would like to print your returns, there are forms available to download through the Louisiana Department of Revenue’s website.
State officials said refunds should arrive within four weeks for people who submit their returns electronically. For paper returns, refunds will take up to eight weeks to process.
To ensure that you receive your tax refunds as early as possible and to prevent delays, officials with the Louisiana Department of Revenue suggest you update your contact information with the state agency.
