Astronomy Days at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, has been postponed to January 31 and February 1 due to the winter storm watch this weekend.

Museum officials said the decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of visitors, staff, and participating organizations. The annual event draws thousands of space fans for hands-on activities, talks, and opportunities to engage with professional and amateur astronomers.

The theme of this year’s event is Passport to the Moon, with a focus on the upcoming launch of Artemis II, and NASA’s return to the Moon.  Among the crew is North Carolina astronaut Christina Koch who will be the first woman to orbit the Moon.

A full schedule of events is available on the museum website.
