PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A driver was taken to the hospital after appearing to have crashed into the a Valley Metro bus early Monday morning in west Phoenix.
The crash happened near 51st Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road around 4 a.m.
Details on what led to the crash are still limited. When Arizona’s Family arrived at the scene, the front of a pickup truck was heavily damaged, and there was damaged to the side of a Valley Metro bus.
The man who was driving the truck was taken to the hospital in serious condition. No passengers were in the bus at the time of the crash, police told Arizona’s Family. The bus driver was uninjured.
Lower Buckeye Road is closed in both directions from 45th Avenue to 50th Avenue. It’s unclear how long the road will stay closed.
The crash is still under investigation.
