Investigation underway after Jacksonville man found shot, dead in home: JSO

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says that multiple people have been detained.

A death investigation is currently underway after a Jacksonville man was found shot and dead in a home on the city’s Westside, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says.

JSO says that at around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 5200 block of Boilard Drive in regards to a person shot. Upon arriving at a home, a man in his mid-twenties was found to be suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue pronounced him deceased shortly after.

The sheriff’s office says that multiple people have been detained, and while detectives with the Homice and Crime Scene Unit conduct an investigation into the man’s death.
