Phoenix temps to climb this week; January set to be 3rd warmest on record

  • January 27, 2026

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Temperatures will continue to warm up this week; we are forecasting 80 by the end of the weekend! January so far is the third warmest on record.

However, with the mild temperatures forecast to end the month, it’s likely that we will move up to first place when all is said and done for January.

After temperatures in the low 70s this afternoon, it will be a pleasant evening with temperatures dropping into the 60s after 6 p.m. and 50s after 8 p.m.

For Wednesday morning, it will be cool with a Phoenix low temperature of 48 degrees. This will be a tad milder than the 46 degrees we started with this morning. It will be a winning Wednesday with some high clouds and highs around 75 degrees.

It warms up on Thursday and Friday with highs in the mid to upper 70s with mostly sunny skies. The warmest part of the 7-Day forecast is the weekend; highs are forecast in the upper 70s on Saturday and 80 on Sunday.

What about the morning temperatures this week? Lows will be in the upper 40s on Wednesday morning, but likely warm to the low 50s by the weekend. The normal low temperature in Phoenix for Wednesday is 47 degrees.

For the High Country, mild and dry weather will continue this week into the weekend. Areas north and east of the Mogollon Rim won’t be quite as warm mid-week, but that will change late week as all of Arizona rises to above normal temperatures.
