PHOENIX (AZFamily) — American Airlines passengers are dealing with serious travel headaches in the Valley as dozens of American Airlines flights are either canceled or delayed due to the winter weather affecting other parts of the country.
According to FlightAware, nearly 100 American Airlines inbound and outbound flights have been canceled Tuesday at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport because the company is struggling to return to a normal schedule.
American Airlines said in a statement to Arizona’s Family that the deadly storm impacted five of its nine hubs, including its largest at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Temperatures have remained below freezing, so the snow isn’t melting.
The rough travel conditions have been going on for four days, so the impacts continue to add up as more passengers look to rebook and take previously open seats.
Video from Sky Harbor’s baggage claim showed long lines as passengers try to figure out where their luggage ended up or try to rebook.
American Airlines said customers are encouraged to check its app for the latest flight status.
