PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for Jan. 28, 2026:
Papa John’s Pizza – 11300 E Via Linda, Scottsdale
3 violations:
- No certified food manager
- Cheese, ham and sausages not kept cold enough
- Sanitizer bottles with solution that is too strong
Chen Wok Express – 8115 N 19th Avenue, Phoenix
3 violations:
- Raw chicken and beef stored above cooked chicken
- Grill cleaner fluid not labeled
- Utensils not stored/cleaned properly
Carniceria La Constancia – 1109 E Main Street, Mesa
3 violations:
- No soap at hand washing station
- Wrapped tortillas stored under raw meat in cooler
- Cooked beef and carnitas not date marked
Thanks A Brunch – 734 N McQueen Rd, Gilbert
4 violations:
- Employee not washing hands properly
- Raw chicken and beef not held at proper temperature
- Table top cold wells not cooling properly
- Plumbing problem with kitchen sink
