Here are the area’s top high school sports performers for Jan. 28-29. Top performers are based on the results sent in by the coaches. 

Thursday, Jan. 29

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Kinsey Cave, East Duplin: The junior scored 23 points in a 61-41 victory over Southwest.

Bennett Holley, East Duplin: The freshman scored 17 points.

Brinkleyanne Lucas, Southwest: The sophomore scored 15 points in a 61-41 loss to East Duplin.

Sidney Ferguson, White Oak: The sophomore had 10 points, three rebounds and one assist in a 37-27 win over D.H. Conley.

Aariel Jemison, White Oak: The senior had 11 points, six rebounds, four steals, three blocks and an assist. 

Wednesday, Jan. 28

BOYS BASKETBALL

Kannon McBride, Croatan: The junior had 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in an 80-32 victory over East Carteret.

Tyler Thorpe, Croatan: The senior had 20 points, two assists, one rebound, one steal and one block. 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Neely McMannen, Croatan: The senior had 18 points, four steals, two rebounds and two assists in a 60-22 win over East Carteret.

Lilly Miller, Croatan: The sophomore had 10 points, nine rebounds and two steals.
