Freezing temperatures have returned to North Texas, but this visit shouldn’t be as prolonged as the recent winter storm.

A cold weather advisory from the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office, in effect until 11 a.m. Saturday, warned of wind chills as low as zero degrees across North Texas. DFW International Airport is expected to reach its coldest point of the day at 8 a.m., with a temperature of 20 degrees and a wind chill of 8.

Temperatures are only expected to go above freezing for a few hours in the afternoon before returning to frigid lows overnight. Sunday should see more significant warming, however, with a daytime high of 53 degrees.

Early next week, temperatures should be even warmer with highs in the 60s and lows repeatedly above freezing.
