The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the man, who is in his late 20s, was shot in his chest.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries early Saturday morning after being shot during an argument in a parking lot in Jacksonville’s Brooklyn area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting reportedly happened in the 400 block of Park Street.

JSO said the man, who’s is in his late 20s, was shot in his chest.

Based on the preliminary investigation, JSO said the man and a group of unknown individuals were standing in a parking lot when the victim and suspect got into an altercation, which led to the victim being shot.

Officers were able to arrive shortly after shots were fired and detain all parties involved, JSO said.

This is an isolated incident with no further threat to the public, JSO confirmed.
