Police say the bullet entered the home from outside, striking the victim while she was inside.
FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed from inside her home Friday night, officials say.
The Fort Worth Fire Department was called to the incident at about 8:51 p.m. in the 3400 block of Tahiti Lane, the Fort Worth Police Department said. It had initially been reported that the victim had fallen inside the home.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, officials said, and police were told later that night that the injury was caused by a gunshot wound.
According to FWPD, preliminary investigation showed a bullet entered the home from outside, striking the victim while she was inside.
Police added that there was a shots fired call in the area about an hour before the medical call investigators are looking into.
Detectives are also reviewing surveillance footage from the area and searching for witnesses, FWPD said, and working to identiy any suspected persons or vehicles possible connected.
No suspects are in custody at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
