LOS ANGELES, CA — A 52-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries during a contents fire Sunday morning inside a unit at a two-story apartment building in the Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw area of Los Angeles, authorities said.
Firefighters dispatched at 5:46 a.m. to 4534 W. August St. located the fire on the first floor of the two-story structure and had it out within 19 minutes of their arrival, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
Paramedics rushed the 52-year-old man to a hospital in stable condition.
“Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety are responding for structural assessment,” said Jennifer Middleton of the Los Angeles Fire Department. “Red Cross will be assisting the displaced occupant due to the uninhabitable condition of his dwelling.”
No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
