MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) — A new era is soon to begin for the Catholic community in New York City.
On Sunday, Timothy Cardinal Dolan led his final Mass at a packed St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
Cardinal Dolan turned 75 last year – the age when Catholic bishops are required to retire. He led New York’s Archdiocese for 16 years.
Pope Leo XIV named Bishop Ronald Hicks from Illinois as Dolan’s successor.
Hicks will officially be installed on Friday.
