Manufacturing company Siemens Energy is expanding in Houston.
The company, which produces power plant equipment and other energy-related technology, announced it would be investing $23 million into Texas as part of a nationwide expansion.
“We felt it was important to make this announcement today to show the nation, show our customers [and] show our employees that we’re spending a billion dollars on the growing U.S. electrified economy,” said Matt Neal, Siemens Energy’s President of North America.

Siemens is looking to upgrade its Deer Park facility, where service technicians work on the company’s gas turbine fleet.
“It’s really important that we invest in this service facility so we can keep that fleet up and running,” Neal said.
The company is also expanding a northwest Houston facility that focuses on gas compressor assembly and service.
Siemens currently employs 1,600 people in the greater Houston region. Neal said the company’s expansion in Houston could create more jobs for gas turbine service technicians. The expansion comes as energy demand from data centers is expected to boom – particularly in Texas.
“There’s a lot of talk about the demand that’s driven by data centers,” Neal said. “And we definitely see that demand and are a major part of supporting the data center growth and the AI growth in the U.S.”
