Costco is recalling a popular bakery item that was sold in 22 states, including New York state.

Costco is recalling Mini Beignets filled with caramel due to a mislabeling error. The beignets were inadvertently packaged with Mini Beignets filled with Chocolate Hazelnut, which contain undeclared tree nuts (hazelnut/filbert).

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to hazelnuts/filberts run the risk of a severe life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The beignets were sold in several states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

The items were sold between Jan. 16 and Jan. 30.

If you are allergic to hazelnuts/filberts, do not consume this product. Consumers are urged to return the bakery item to Costco for a full refund.
