Over the last few weeks, questions about the future of two-time Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks have headlined the 2026 edition of the NBA trade deadline. Following reports of Antetokounmpo wanting to move on from the Bucks, the Golden State Warriors have been one of the teams linked to the 10-time All-Star. According to multiple reports, the Warriors have long wanted to make a run at bringing Antetokounmpo to pair alongside Steph Curry.

With Antetokounmpo potentially being available, the Warriors have been one of the teams mentioned as a potential landing spot in a league-changing blockbuster trade at the deadline. However, with the Warriors making a move for 7-foot-2 big man Kristaps Porzingis on Wednesday night, it appears the Warriors are out of the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes.

In an appearance on SportsCenter on Wednesday night, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Antetokounmpo is over. According to Charania, the Warriors made a “pick-heavy” offer to the Bucks for Antetokounmpo last week. Yet, the Warriors believe the Bucks won’t be trading Antetokounmpo at the deadline, per Charania.

With the Warriors reportedly out of the race, the Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks have been the teams linked to Antetokounmpo. The Bucks and Antetokounmpo will have to make a decision quickly with the NBA trade deadline now only hours away. If the Bucks don’t trade Antetokounmpo by Thursday, they will have to wait until the offseason.

The NBA trade deadline is set for Thursday at 1 p.m. PT.
