After a windy Wednesday, the highs are expected to reach the 70s by the weekend.
A smaller cold front on Tuesday night brought temperatures just below the normal average on Wednesday, with a high in the mid-50s and wind gusts up to 28 miles per hour. However, the end of the work week’s forecast will see a gradual warming, with a high of 67 degrees on Thursday before reaching the mid-70s on Friday.
The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office has forecast those warmer highs lasting at least through next Wednesday. These temperatures are expected to be about 15 degrees above the normal average for early February. Sunny conditions are forecast most days, but a 20% chance of showers is expected on Tuesday.
Looking further ahead, the Climate Prediction Center forecast above-normal temperatures for Texas through the middle of February, but it’s not clear just how far above the normal average those temperatures will be. In the same time frame, a slightly higher-than-normal chance of precipitation is projected.
