  • July 12, 2025

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two Phoenix police officers and a woman are hospitalized after being hurt in a crash in south Phoenix Friday afternoon.

Police confirmed they responded to a crash involving officers around 5:30 p.m. to 19th Avenue between Lower Buckeye and Buckeye roads.

Two officers in the police car were taken to the hospital with injuries. Police say everyone involved has serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The officers are expected to be released tonight, but the woman will remain in the hospital.

Aerial video showed a white sedan and a Phoenix PD patrol vehicle damaged in the wreck.

Detectives say the woman made a U-turn in front of the patrol car, which is what caused the crash.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area but at least one lane opened up to traffic just before 8 p.m.
