PHOENIX — One man has died following a multi-vehicle collision in northwest Phoenix on Saturday night, authorities said.

Shortly after 7 p.m., police responded to the area near 35th Avenue and Camelback Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found two trucks involved in the collision. Paramedics helped remove a 60-year-old man from one of the trucks and took him to a hospital where he later died.

The other driver, a 28-year-old man, stayed on scene and spoke with detectives while showing no signs of impairment.

What do detectives believe led up to the crash which left 1 man dead?

After an initial investigation, detectives believe the 60-year-old man was headed south on 35th Avenue after stopping at a traffic light. He then entered Camelback Road’s intersection and was struck by the 28-year-old driving west.
