LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — College basketball will take over the Las Vegas Strip this fall with a massive event featuring 22 men’s and women’s teams.
Players Era on Monday announced the launch of “November Mania,” a new college basketball multi-team event planned for Thanksgiving week.
More than 30 games will be played over four days, Nov. 24-27, at MGM Grand Garden Arena and Michelob ULTRA Arena.
The first two days of the men’s championship are preset, with the third day’s matchups determined by the outcome of the first two days.
Schools lined up for the men’s championship are UNLV, Creighton, Rutgers, San Diego State, Alabama, Gonzaga, Houston, Syracuse, St. John’s, Iowa State, Kansas, Notre Dame, Oregon, Auburn, Tennessee, Baylor, Michigan and Maryland.
For the women’s championship, four schools will participate in the tournament: Texas, UCLA, South Carolina and Duke. The two winners of the semifinal games will play in the title game.
“With November Mania, we are creating a new American tentpole sporting event that will bring the madness to November, serving college basketball fanatics and reaching more casual fans, growing the game by expanding college basketball’s imprint on the national stage before the start of conference play,” Players Era CEO Seth Berger said in a statement.
The event will also feature over $20 million in guaranteed sponsor NIL activities.
All games will air on TNT or truTV and stream on HBO Max.
