Abandoned house catches fire (Houston Police Department)
HOUSTON – Houston Police and firefighters are out at the scene of an abandoned home that caught fire in the Third Ward.
The fire happened in the 3100 block of Burkett Street.
Firefighters responded to the home and during a search, they found the man’s body inside.
South Central and HFD are at a fire in an abandoned residence. During a search of the residence HFD located the body of an adult male. Homicide and HFD Arson are investigating. 202 pic.twitter.com/D4izxXejIU

Lt. Larry Crowson with HPD says the house had been boarded up and they believe the man who died inside may have been homeless.
Investigators are at the scene.
