PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A windy day is in store for portions of Arizona Friday, with a Wind Advisory in effect along the Colorado River.
Much of the state has experienced breezy conditions, and it’s likely we’ll see that breeziness through the weekend—even around metro Phoenix.
It’s also going to be much warmer than average, with highs in the deserts running more than 20 degrees above the norms. That temperature profile is expected to last through Wednesday of next week.
At that point, a developing storm will make a run at Arizona and at least get close enough to cool us down a bit.
Highs next Thursday and Friday should drop into the 80s and by next Friday, we’re flirting with a chance for showers around the Valley. Of course, the chance for rain will be greater in the mountains.
Bottom line: It’s still way too early to tell what impact that system will have on the state. The only confidence we have is that we will get a weather pattern change by next weekend.
