Kate Weiser Chocolate, a Dallas company that sold splatter-painted bon bons and candy bars, is ceasing operations.

Owner and founder Kate Weiser started selling chocolates from West Dallas’ Trinity Groves development in 2014. Her dessert shop became one of the neighborhood’s long-term success stories in a competitive restaurant climate.

Kate Weiser Chocolate expanded from West Dallas to NorthPark Center, Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth and beyond. It saw bursts of business around holidays like Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter. But, according to a post from Weiser on her company’s Instagram, the “highly-seasonal, labor-intensive” nature of the business required a “heavy financial lift to continue operating.”
