Running for political office is never cheap, and candidates running for the three Scottsdale City Council seats open this year are raising and spending tens of thousands of dollars, according to campaign finance reports turned into Scottsdale City Clerk Ben Lane’s office.
The seats currently occupied by Solange Whitehead, Barry Graham and Kathy Littlefield are up for grabs this year. Whitehead is seeking her third term in the seat while Graham is seeking his second term. Littlefield is term-limited out at three consecutive terms in office and cannot run again in this election.
Bob Littlefield, who is Kathy Littlefield’s husband is seeking a fourth term on the city council but has not held a seat on the council since 2014.
