When you think about ‘red’ states, you automatically think it means they must be run better than ‘blue’ states. But a group of conservative leaders say, that is not necessarily true.

The group is called the Strategic Leadership Initiative (SLI).

“Basically, what they seek to do is root out that kind of bureaucratic sabotage of conservative governments, in state governments” said Shawn Fleetwood, who wrote about it for The Federalist.

What’s really going on is, the blue led cities in the red states, are trying to wreck the Republican agenda.

“When Democrats get in charge, they go pedal to the medal to implement their agenda” Fleetwood told KTRH, “What you’re seeing with the State Leadership Initiative is to make sure that Republican state’s are doing the same thing, but with conservative policy.”

SLI, which just wrapped up it’s first year of operation, has targeted 5 states, including Texas.

“To find those problematic areas in state governments, and in state bureaucracies that we think are very troubling, in terms of implementing left-wing ideology” noted Fleetwood, “If you want to be more successful as Republican governor, here’s how you can address it.”

One of Governor Greg Abbott’s campaign pledges is to make Houston, more red.
