SAN ANTONIO – A man described as armed and dangerous was shot and killed by officers during a SWAT operation on the city’s South Side on Tuesday night.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers had been tracking the 30-year-old man to an apartment complex before calling in the SWAT team to assist with the arrest. Authorities said the suspect had multiple felony warrants, including charges tied to violent offenses and property crimes, as well as a parole violation for assault involving choking.
Four SWAT officers attempted to take the man into custody. During the operation, officers deployed a flashbang device when the man then ran and pulled out a firearm, allegedly firing multiple shots at officers.

Two officers, both 14-year veterans, returned fire, striking the suspect. Multiple shots were fired during the incident, and the man was pronounced dead.
