A stolen work truck crashed into another vehicle and overturned onto an elementary school playground in Philadelphia yesterday afternoon, leaving witnesses shaken but no children injured. NBC 10 in Philadelphia spoke with Jamele Ransom, a crossing guard who witnessed the crash. “And I tell you, he ran the light, T-boned the lady. I’m bobbing and weaving. I’m just thankful, thankful to be alive right now. Thank you, Jesus,” Ransom said. When asked to describe the sound of the crash, Ransom said, “BAM. No, not to be funny. I swear, not to be funny. It happened that fast. And luckily, I’m alive.” Ransom confirmed that children were present in the playground at the time of the crash. “Do you know what time of day the kids were playing out there? I was out there. They were in there. I had to pull a kid out. Yes. So, there were kids in there? Yes,” he said. He described the chaotic scene, saying, I don’t know which way to go because he ends up in the schoolyard. Luckily, I wasn’t on the corner. I’m in the shade slightly because it’s an 82-degree day today. Crazy. My adrenaline is still running. I’m just thankful to be alive.”
