PHOENIX – The westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway in east Mesa reopened around noon Wednesday after a fatal crash that morning, authorities said.
The closure was initiated around 9:15 a.m. at Broadway Road, east of Hawes Road, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The Loop 202 eastbound lanes were not impacted.
ABC15 reported that the driver of a Ford F-150 died after hitting a bridge barrier, which caused the truck to catch fire.
No other details were made available.
