In Tuesday’s WBEZ (Chicago), Micah Yason reports, “Chicago’s music scene is coming together for a cause hitting close to home. Musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera Orchestra, and more are preparing for a particularly meaningful performance to support immigrant communities here in our city. Putting on the benefit concert, which takes place next Friday, is a nonprofit called Centro Romero. They provide legal, social, and educational services to families who need it most.” Yason interviews Max Raimi, violist, Chicago Symphony Orchestra; Heather Wittels, first violin section member, Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra and director of Chamber Music, University of Chicago; and Grace McManus, development assistant, Centro Romero. The concert happens on Friday, May 15 at PianoForte Chicago.
