JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Dolphins fell in five innings to the ASUN Tournament’s top seeded Central Arkansas Sugar Bears Thursday afternoon, 5-0.

The #4 Dolphins are now 1-1 in ASUN Tournament play, defeating #5 FGCU on Wednesday. Jacksonville now is in a holding pattern to see who and when the program will play. JU’s next game will be decided by the outcome of the #7 UNF versus #2 Stetson contest at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Against the Sugar Bears, Jacksonville managed just a single hit courtesy of Emma Mansfield in the top of the fifth. The Dolphins were not walked and struck out three times over the course of the game.

Jacy Harrelson got her second start of the conference tournament, lasting two innings and fanning one batter. Margaret Jenkins came on in relief, closing the game and also striking out one.

In four games played against UCA all-time, JU is 0-4, last having squared off with the Sugar Bears in three games in 2023.

In terms of what Jacksonville’s tournament future looks like:

  • The Dolphins will play at 5 p.m. against #3 North Alabama if the #7 UNF Ospreys are victorious over #2 Stetson.
  • If #2 Stetson defeats #7 UNF, Jacksonville will be done for Thursday and will resume play on Friday at 2:30 against the winner of #7 UNF and #3 UNA.
