United Foods International celebrated the grand opening of its new 126,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Phoenix on Thursday.

The Japanese-based liquids producer’s new facility is located near the Loop 202 and Dobbins Road at the Envision Dobbins 202 West Industrial Park, strengthening Phoenix as a leading hub for manufacturing and distribution in addition to creating more jobs and expanding production capacity.

The building is expected to employ up to 100 people.

“Phoenix continues to be a top destination for global companies looking to grow,” Mayor Kate Gallego said in a press release. “United Foods International’s decision showcases the growing strength of Japanese investment in our city and reflects the global confidence in Phoenix for the future.”

UFI will be “capable of processing eight million gallons of liquid products annually” in the new facility, with the ability to double its production in Arizona to over 13 millions gallons per year, according to the release.
