Authorities Monday identified a 61-year-old man who was killed in a car-to-car shooting near the Kia Forum in Inglewood last Friday.

The victim, Michael Elridge, had a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

The shooting happened in the area of Prairie and Manchester at around 6:30 p.m. Friday. Two vehicles were stopped when the suspect shot at the victim and took off, according to Inglewood Mayor James Butts.

Elridge was able to drive about a block away before losing consciousness in the area of Nutwood Street and Prairie Avenue, officials said.

A woman was in the car with the victim, Butts said. It was unknown if she was hurt.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.

No suspects were in custody.
