The decision to drop the charge of disorderly behavior is part of a settlement of Paladino’s First Amendment lawsuit, claiming she was targeted for her conservative views.
Paladino also agreed to delete three posts and remove the title of “councilwoman” from her personal social media account.
Both sides released statements.
“I am responsible for the content, I never intended to make Council Members or staff feel unwelcome or unsafe in their work environment,” the statement read.
Councilwoman Sandra Ung, a Democrat who leads the Rules Committee, said in her statement: “I believe the resolution strikes the right balance between protection of Council staff and the First Amendment liberties of Council Members.”
