Just one year after an aesthetically pleasing, Montreal breakfast chain secured a coveted Company of the Year award, it’s preparing to expand. Texas is at the forefront of its plans, as it has been chosen for its expansion in the U.S.

Pür & Simple, founded in Quebec, Canada, describes its staff as having “unmatched passion and expertise.” With over 65 locations in the Northern nation and just one in San Antonio, it’s amassed an online audience, with customer visit videos often going viral on social media. The modern-style restaurants offer guests “nutritious twists on breakfast, brunch and lunch classics served in an upscale setting,” according to its website.

It’s a morning bird’s dream. Menu items vary from hot vanilla lattes to All-American bacon, eggs, and pancake plates to colorful corned beef bowls. Photos of the eatery interior show green vine plants draped from the ceiling, walls with white, sleek finishes, and warm-toned wooden fixtures.

Currently, only one shop exists in San Antonio at 20821 U.S. Highway 281 N., Suite 116. However, those on the Northwest Side will be the next neighbors to benefit from its cuisine. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing (TDLR) submitted on Monday, May 11, the company has signed a lease to a 2,960-square-foot property at 5730 UTSA Blvd. Crews are investing an estimated $800,000 to build on open land near Popstroke and the Roadrunner campus. It will introduce new options to the area, which has limited brunch options within a two-mile radius of the address.

“I felt that there was a space in the San Antonio market — given that I’ve been living here for 10 years — for a business like that one,” local franchise owner Rafael Mendible previously told MySA. “As I understood more and more about the business, because I am not a restaurateur by trade, I felt and I saw that this would be [the] perfect place for us to prove this concept, here in the United States and in an area like this one.”

Key features of the brand are work-life balance, as its operating hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., serving nutritious meals along with gluten-sensitive options, and upholding a friendly environment, according to its website. Adult entree prices in Texas range from $8.75 (Biscuits & Gravy) and up, while kids’ meals start at $7.

Construction at the site is scheduled to begin this upcoming fall and to finish on Tuesday, December 1, 2026. MySA reached out to Pür & Simple for an estimated grand opening date, but did not hear back in time for publication. Residents who are curious about what to expect can visit the spot located within the Stone Ridge Market off Evans Road.
